Has anyone done a study of Galatians 5:19-21? I suspect it's one of the few parts of scripture where you can write an entire book about three verses.

Those verses by themselves? No.

There appear to be two "types" of deeds:
1) ones associated with pagan rituals,
2) ones that are from within, and against, the ecclesia

The positive list only contrast deeds of type 2.

I'm not entirely sure why the type 1 ones are mentioned. Maybe to highlight where they came from, a life focussed on the flesh. Contained within that is a list of other deeds of the flesh, ones brought about by the deeds of the Judaisers. So it's part of an exhortation not to listen to them, and go back to focussing on the flesh, but instead to walk by the spirit.
