#446279 William Lane Craig to visit Adelaide

Posted by daysha on 10 August 2013 - 09:57 PM in Apologetics

Is this talk or one very similar by him available on Youtube? I've looked there but can't find him discussing 'God in the Public Space.' or similar topics.

Do you have any recommended Youtbe talks by him on similar topics, please?

#446152 Introducing the BibleMaps App for iOS

Posted by daysha on 31 July 2013 - 04:21 PM in Archaeology, Biblical History & Textual Criticism

Does that app work if your device is out of range for getting any on-line link or phone link?
Many areas of NZ have blind spots where there is no access to the Internet or to any of the telcos.

Can any of the Android tablets (similar dimensions to a regular iPad) also be used as a telephone?

#446052 The neglect and vandalism of Samaria

Posted by daysha on 11 July 2013 - 03:27 PM in Archaeology, Biblical History & Textual Criticism

A fitting end to an idolatrous city started up originally by the idol-worshipping king of Israel, Omri. He even wrote statutes, laws & regulations to entrench his power & control over the Israelites' worship of idols.

Then, there was Ahab! >;o

#445820 Holiness Vs Lust

Posted by daysha on 28 May 2013 - 03:48 PM in Cherith

Found this very helpful, Damien, :)

One way to overcome these natural lusts is to replace them with the fruits of the spirit, and think on the "these things" of Phils.::
And be moderate and healthy in what and how much we eat (thinking of poor old Raynald here!)

Moss is straw when it just holds no water

#445568 Spiritual Creation

Posted by daysha on 21 April 2013 - 08:01 PM in Cherith

Luke 17:20–21

Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;

nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [1] in your midst.”

'In your midst' is not inside of you.

The Kingdom of God is in the future.

Look all around. The world is not a very nice place under human rule.

Under God's rule there will be a totally different environment.

It will happen after Jesus returns in order to set it up and start things running, so to speak.

#445567 OT Manuscript Help

Posted by daysha on 21 April 2013 - 07:44 PM in Cherith

Are there any online sources by Christadelphians that set out to explain these chronological differences?

The ESV and the Septuagint both have Ahaziah's age at accession as being 22 in both 2 Kings 8:26 and 2 Chron 22:2.
But there is still the ten year discrepancy between 2 Kings 24:8 [aged 18] and 2 Chron 36:9 [aged only 8].

Would it have been normal practice for those people at that time to set up as king an eight year old?

Or would someone else take charge until the boy comes of age?

#445566 Pray Throughout the Day

Posted by daysha on 21 April 2013 - 07:23 PM in Cherith

Hi JonSAdams
:thank:/> for the video. :)/> I really enjoyed it!

I particularly liked the point he made about leaving the phone switched on, in how he it relates it to leaving our prayer phone on to God too.
